We are looking for a highly motivated intern who recently received a M.Sc. degree with a strong scientific drive and interest in cell culture technologies & gene therapy.

About the Role

The intern will advance our adeno-associated viral vectors (AAV) manufacturing platform using diverse molecular & cell biology tools.

Preferred start date: February 2025

Latest start date: March 2025

Duration: 10 months

Key responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and improve essential components for the production of AAVs
  • Execute state-of-the-art AAV productions and determine quality by ddPCR, WES, capsid quantification and transduction analysis
  • Monitor viability, growth and gene expression of cells using appropriate methods such as flow cytometry, NyONE, NGS & qPCR
  • Document experiments using electronic lab book and according to line function requirements
  • Analyze and collect experimental data & present scientific interpretation in internal meetings

Essential requirements:

  • Education: Recent Master graduate (up to 6 months) with a degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry or similar
  • Languages: Proficient in English (written and spoken)
  • Experience/Professional requirements:
    • Experience in cell culture, desirable HEK (suspension) cell culture
    • Excellent team player

Desirable requirements:

  • Good experience in the production of adeno-associated viruses (AAVs) is of advantage
  • Experience in ddPCR, qPCR, WES and flow cytometry is of advantage
